I had this terrible sub. last year. The main teacher was going to have a baby and was out on leave so we had the same sub. for half a year. (He was subbing for Algebra, my WORST subject. With him, I got an A+ at the end of the year.)
We did nothing but fool around in that class, and we were the advanced class!
Kids in other classes would glue his coffee cup to his desk, hide in the storage closets, and just screw around.

Got any stories about your subs?

did you mean ever?

Anyways every Sub I got was terrible. He/she didn't know how to control students and sometimes they would be someone who didn't speak fluent english. And they seriously don't know what they're doing.

We had a super old dude for a sub at one point. Recently too.

I'm guessing he couldn't hear well and such and didn't really know what to do.

The students pretty much made the class plans. shifty.gif

I edited the topic title. =)

Yes, I've had some bad substitutes. One was a super-fob, and most of the class failed to understand his more harsh Chinese teaching tactics. One substitute arrived 45 minutes late for class, and we did nothing for that class...

Other than that, they've been pretty okay.

I did have a interesting Drivers ED teacher. She decided to cut class for an hour to get cigarettes. Then, when she came back for 5 min, she decided to go outside for another hour to smoke em all.

The worst substitute I had was in Mrs. Reap's eighth grade science class. Some tiny lady with a pinched nose and glasses. She was satanic. She wrote someone up for coughing.

BUT OH COW. I had the coolest substitute for my english class a couple of weeks ago, he was really a professor at Rice, and we had a vocab. quiz that day, so he's like: "This quiz will be an...open-partner quiz. Use your notes, your book, your neighbor, I don't care if you cheat. Just don't talk too loud because the teacher next door might hear."
Oh man. He was the coolest.

Hmm...

A couple of times, we had this lady who wouldn't shut up. We would be listening to her, and she would tell us to do our work, but how could we if she kept on talking? She was all telling us that she was in Wedding Crashers and blah blah blah. One time, she gave out bags and lip gloss. mellow.gif

I had this sub once (who just happens to be my horrible science teacher now) who always played with the computer. We could have like lit a bomb in there and he would just have been staring at the screen. He didn't follow the schedule plan and all we did for the whole day was walk around and talk. Well, that was kinda good for us, but the teacher got mad the next day. ermm.gif

Oh yeah!

There was this one sub, he was a errr, big strong gut with a BIG LOUD voice. I was in homeroom and we were reading, when it was time to put our books away, his voice was so loud I almost jumped out of my seat. He threatens to throw things out of the windows, too. In one of the classes, he threw out someones phone and he thrw someone elses basketball to the fence which is impossible to get inside unless you climb over it, but it's like 9 feet tall. stubborn.gif

yeah =_=
this year already, we had this one sub for math and she was realy nice, and then a coupld of weeks later, she came back to sub for my block class. she was suck a pain in the ass. when we did nothing, she said 'GO DO YOUR WORK' when we had none, and then later when we were just whispering to each other like she told us to she screamed 'SHUT UP' mellow.gif

and same with this other sub; we talked alot and hes like 'SHUT UP, YOURE ALL GIVING ME HEADACHES' _dry.gif

and now we have a a really cool sub that we have for the rest of the year, when our teacher is gone. YAY

Ohh, we had this crazy old lady named Mrs. Desjardens. A friend of mine (male) was walking down the hall and she poked her head out of the classroom and said "Little boy, come here."
He was freaked out, but he went in. The two of them were alone, and she says, "Can you smell anything?"
My friend's like, "No.."
Mrs. Desjardens replies, "Oh, I thought the room might have been on fire."

I had the worst substitute teacher, when my Algebra teacher left cuz she had a baby.
This was like our 3rd sub. This lady hated math. She didnt even know a lot about math. She couldnt control the class. And this girl in our class had 2 teach us. Shes like the smartest person in our class. And other teachers would have 2 sit in the back of the class so everyone would be quiet.

I also had the best substitute teacher. He let us listen 2 our mp3 players. He rocked. lol.

In conclusion, supply teachers are insane.

I had one in grade 6 and during gym she let all the boys in the class play sports and made all the girls sit..and do nothing.. so we went to the change room and played soccer in there. cool.gif

And then this year I have this crazy supply teacher sometimes and he believes he's a real teacher and gets all this paperwork out on his desk and pretends to mark it. He also thinks he's Polish..but I know he's not. _dry.gif

Yeah. I had the worst substitute teacher back in 4th grade. Mrs. Rose. I threw a desk chair at her. It was really hilarious. Bad though. But, still... hilarious.

She never substituted in my grade again. She would do the grades above me, and below me, but I never saw her teaching the same grade as me for the rest of the time I went to that school.

Consider yourself lucky that you weren't expelled for that. We had someone expelled for carrying fingernail clippers to school.

Right now we have this horrible substitute French teacher because our regular teacher had a baby. He can't control our class so these crazy freshman start singing horribly right in the middle of class, and this one time, this chick put her shoe in the microwave and cooked it for 15 seconds! The teacher just smiled creepily.
