Okay so. My boyfriend has a son named Daylin. I'm 4 months pregnant with a girl and even before he had a Daylin, I wanted to name my daughter Kaylin. AND. he wants to name our daughter Shaylin. ( by the way yes i know those are out of the ordinary names ) but anyway..is it odd to name our children names that rhyme??

i seem to think so, however he doesnt. but i dunno. im kinda sketchy about that one.

EDIT :: we are planning on nicknaming Kaylin "KC" cos those would be her initials.

It's not really odd...some people like that but others like me think that it's tacky...

well, i like th ename kaylin, personally. although im willing to bet that the kids themselves will fine it irritating as they get older... so maybe not the best plan. perhaps as a middle name?

I think It's fine. You should talk it over with him. He got Daylin, You get Kaylin.

Sounds like it could work out, I suppose?

I think that's adorable! It will be so cute when they're young..but when they're teenagers they may not like it so much =X There's always the option of nicknames though..

Oh, I've seen siblings with rhyming names before, but I forgot what they were named, lol! But I don't think there's anything wrong with having kids' names that rhyme. I think it's cute and creative. Like my friend's whole family starts with K. Kylie. Kelly. Kathleen. Kristopher. I think it's a cool, fun thing to do ...

Hah yeah, my family's name all starts with L...
But rhyming names are fine, but when they get older they might not like it as much. Kaylin is a nice name; congrats on the baby!

Well..it's okay. Sometimes it's normal, other times its weird. For example, my mom's coworker's name is Ronny, who got married to Donny, who had Jesse (Jess-eey) and Jaymee. Haha.

Even Kay! My friend's name is Kaylin (Her brother is Jason). We refer to them as Kay and Jay. They like it.

Congrats on your baby!

I think those two are nice names, but give them much different middle names. That would be good.

Ooh, good idea. That way, if they don't like how their names rhyme, they can always be called by their middle names _smile.gif

I think it's rather cute when siblings have rhyming names... just so longa s the names are different enough that it won't be too confusing.

plus since they're going to be so close in age, it will give them something to make them feel united and together and all that bonding stuff...

my friend and her older brother have rhyming names... and my stepmother considered naming her daughters linn and ellin... wisely, she decided not too...

Will do.

Hahah I think it's kinda cute, but as others have said (as stupid as this sounds!) may have little "complications" along the way.

I agree with what most people have said. They might not like having rhyming names when they are older but I still think it's a cute idea. Congratulations too!!
