to me, it's not a matter of being "banned", but by being "optional".

why the heck would you ban it in the first place? Its not like its hurting anyone. Maybe not require it, but surely dont ban it. I think it should be required but everyones such computer geeks these days, a lot of kids would never touch a ball or run around if they didnt have to.

Jesus this is an old topic....

Obviously P.E. should not be BANNED. It should be required during elem. school and middle school. I don't really think that you should need as many credits as you do to graduate from high school. Maybe like one credit or something. But really, if you don't like P.E. by highschool you are no going to try. I hate P.E. and I have to take it both semesters my senior year because my school requires 4 credits where as my old school only wanted 2.

So it should be optional only because you don't like it? So, if someone doesn't like school, school should be optional as well?

why should it be banned? Is there actually a good reason why?

If you don't like p.e (like me) it is either because you suck at it (like me) or you are just plain lazy. lol

You don't have to take notes, you don't have to be quiet, you don't have to stay seated, you don't have to worry about a quiz or a test, heck you really don't even have to pay that much attention.

Would you rather have another class besides P.E? That would suck even more, as far as i'm concered. At least during p.e you can get away from the boringness of your other classes. yawn.gif

whoa, you're lucky in that P.E.

P.E. teachers are generally apathetic and tyranical.

at least, mine were.

have to sit in nice rows; don't talk, etc. gave us quizes, etc.

We shouldn't ban it because these days in America with the whole obesity situations, PE is probably the most exercise or maybe even the only exercise children get.

This is an extremely old topic and for the sake of boredom, I'm keeping this SOB alive.

If PE is banned, expect America's youth to be morbidly obese by the age of 13 and then expect the life expectancy (no pun intended) to be 21.

Its either die of heart failure before you even get married or begin to live your adult life or clean the plaque out your gotdamned arteries.

Options (regarding PE)

Die or Live?

A main concern with PE is that kids aren't getting adequate excercise outside of school. If this is truly the case and the diet relfects this, you're options when it comes to PE truly are 'Die or Live.'

It's called physical education. Where do you get your education normally, if not at school?

No way, PE is good lols it teaches to stay fit and helps you in understanding physical health and it may teach you to play games.

I think it should be required. I mean, many people don't like it because they're lazy. But sometimes it does help people discover their capbilities in physical activity or help them begin to enjoy fitness and working out for better health. So I don't think it should be required in highschool. But in elementary-middle school it should be. rolleyes.gif

Personally, I don't really like P.E
But yeah, it helps us stay in shape because most people in my school don't excercise if there's no PE. So, I guess it's required.

i think PE shouldn't be required or banned...i think people should be allowed to choose. im usually on a team so i don't do PE most of the time, but if i had to choose i would do it when i wasn't on a team.

I definetely don't think they should ban it, you need a balance in life of physical and mental health...also, in elementary, i kno for most students it was their favourite subject, and the one they most looked forward too because it was acutally FUN...

Wth...it SHOULD be still in schools...ppl can learn sports and run around and let them pump some blood instead of sitting all day and having about 5 mins walking to class.

um, why in the world would they ban it? At the rate of obesity in America, I think it should be more enforced. Plus, PE is super fun. happy.gif
