Why don't we all shut up about it? I've read the whole topic twice and most of the posts say the same thing. "I say gay". "I think it's offensive" Etc, No reason to start any other arguments involving it.

It annoys me because it seems offensive to gay people (they're people too) and gay means homosexual, not stupid. So if you were to say "this class is gay," you're pretty much saying the class is a homosexual, which is pretty "gay" itself.

When I was younger..I definitely mis-used the word. I didn't really think of how offensive it actually was..now..I can't remember the last time I used it. So yeah I don't hear it as much anymore but when people say that it does bother me

i use the word gay two ways. first, it stills means happy, wether people accept that or not. and secondly, it has become a synonom for homosexual, but it doesn't need to be deragatory.
