This is a news articles sort of thing so I think this belongs in Current Events.

Aaaanyway, risky business. mellow.gif I think I'd trade in my crappy laptop that I broke last week (and am still using, haha) for the explosive one, though. :D

Ohh, when I heard about that I was so happy because I thought I could get a new one.
But then I realised I have like the only Dell laptop not on the recall list.
Psht great.
I think they need to recall mine's a/c adapter.
I've literly gone through 11 A/C ADAPTERS.
They always break.

I'm so sick of my computer. I'm saving for MacBook though. biggrin.gif

Lithium-ion batteries have been around for about a decade and are used in devices such as cell phones and digital music players. Clancy said tiny metallic particles sometimes short-circuit the battery cells, adding that configuration in an electronic device can contribute to problems.

OMGSH! Don't iPods and phones use lithium-ion batteries too? Uhh-oh.

Fire is fun though :) I'd like to run around hold a flaming iPod/laptop/cell phone screaming "HOLY CRAP MY iPod/LAPTOP/PHONE IS ON FIRE!!!" someday..

I thought that was only for dell notebook batteries? I'm just waiting for my battery from dell so right now i'm running on AC power. I don't know, I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 but I havn't experience OVER over heating. I have experience the battery getting hot/warm though, but I thought that was normal.
