Superman Returns, June 30, 2006.
QUOTE Release Date Notes: (6/5/03) The Summer, 2005 target is tentative. That's also when WB is aiming to release Batman 5. A recent "Variety" article about Warner Bros.' upcoming slate suggested that 2005 was only a possibility, and not a certainty for this movie. Perhaps summer, 2006 is more likely? (9/29/03) I've received an anonymous tip that although this movie could be released as early as the Christmas season of 2005, the current word at WB is that they will probably just aim for a big summer, 2006 release, allowing for lots of preproduction and postproduction time. (5/24/04) The summer, 2006 target has been confirmed. (2/8/05) Warner Bros. has set a date for the 2006 Fourth of July weekend, opening the movie on June 30th, 2006. Spiderman 3, May 4, 2007 QUOTE Release Date Notes: (6/25/03) The summer, 2006 estimate is based upon the two year period in between the 2002 and 2004 releases of the first two movies. (3/3/04) Speaking during Marvel's Q4 earnings conference call yesterday, Avi Arad gave an update on this project, stating that "It is a big movie, and we would rather play it safe and talk about the 2007 at this point," after mentioning that 2006 is still possible (but 2007 is more *likely*). A three-year gap between movies in a franchise is fairly average, so though 2007 sounds like a long ways away, it's not really unreasonable. (3/25/04) After taking a chance on the 4th of July weekend with the second movie, Sony is returning to the first Friday in May with this movie, scheduling it for May 4th, 2007. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, June 2007. QUOTE Release Date Note: (3/23/03) Because of the lengths of the fourth and this fifth novel (nearly 900 pages!), there have been reports that each of these books may actually each be produced as two separate films at the same time (like Lord of the Rings and the Matrix sequels), and then released in the same year. With the third film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, scheduled for release in June, 2004, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire seems likely for 2005 or 2006, which suggests a 2006 or 2007 (or maybe even 2008) release for this movie(s). Of course, the rapid aging of the kids is a big factor in these movies getting made so quickly. (7/5/03) In conjunction with the hype around the publication of this book, a Warner Bros. spokesperson recently announced that the release target for this movie is four years from now, in the summer of 2007, following the November, 2005 release of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The studio is timing the movies so that they are each about 15-18 months apart, and in either June or November. Following that logic, we can expect movie #6 to be released in November, 2008 and for the whole thing to wrap up with movie #7 in June, 2010. What movies are you looking forward to? I'm not that interested in Harry Potter, so I'm not really looking forward to that, I just put it up because a lot of people love Harry Potter. Meh, I'm looking forward to Spiderman 3. (I usually like superhero movies) xP Discuss. (unless you're sillakilla220) |
