I'm in the process of designing another site layout for myself, and so far, here is the snapshot of what I've come up with:

original image

first version:(thumbed)
[thumbw]http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/6134/cbgraphicpreview3du.jpg[/thumbw]

I've editted it per your replies.
Second Version...editted 1:
[thumbw]http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/7665/cbgraphicpreview3bf.jpg[/thumbw]

Third (and final?) version... editted 2:
[thumbw]http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/738/cbgraphicpreview1ow.jpg[/thumbw]

I need to do some black/dark accenting work behind her, but the brushes I have just aren't working for the design. I use PSP7, so any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Or do I need any accenting? Or do I need to add/subtract something from the design? I'm really welcoming critique!

Rachael!
I haven't seen you in so long!
I think it looks pretty good. But I don't like the grids. And the bakground is pretty simple =\
Well hope that helps!

I don't like how she's so colourful and then the background is so bleh. Maybe make it a blue or pink, it might not look good like that either though. I like the font for Just Whistle.. the other font is okay. The brush behind her and behind the font doesn't match with the grids.

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7.

As for everything else... I think I'm going to get rid of the grids and play down her color or something... heck I don't know.

yes, better use of color. the tan is boring compared to the artsyful picture haha i dunno, juss think of sum pictures or outlines or patterns/textures you could add. like maybe soft silhouettes of random birds in the corner of the text? idk lol

Maybe that is what's bugging you - the contrast between the coloring on the girl and the background. I love the dark pink you used (towards the hem of her skirt), maybe try something closer to that hue (but a bit lighter since it's a background)?

It looks lovely, by the way.

I love what it's shaped up to be. You do some amazing work. Are you planning on submitting as a cB skin?

No - I am going to use this for my personal site I think - I'm still debating whether or not to submit my current one once I"m through with it.

Version two looks even better! I like the brushes behind the girl, and the brushes on top of the navigation side bar, and the music player also. This is great Rachael. I can't wait to see it when you put it up.
