condoms, should be distributed at school? Options

i think schools should pass out condoms but at the same time its sad to know that teenages out there havin sex..i mean, u cant really do anythin about it, its their choice and i guess all people can do is try to protect them from std's and stuff....but i also think it can encourage other people to go out and do it...its realy quite a dilemna

i don't like the idea of pre-marital sex.. and if the couple is smart, they wouldn't even need the condom cuz they wouldn't have sex...

you can't just say DON'T have sex before marriage. It's only natural to have sex... so why not have safe sex, (again, 99% laboratory tested -___-) instead of having unplanned pregnancies?

some has said that kids might get the wrong impression that maybe it's okay to have sex when condoms are distributed at schools. but kids will be doing it anyway... so with the school distributing the condoms, it will keep the kid's risks of getting STI's at a lower rate. i've had sex ed and they tell us to obstain from sex, but they also tell us if we do chose not to, it is recommended to for us to use condoms. when that is said, how will WE get the condoms? we can't just walk into the drug store to get some. either that or not use them at all... teens would rather not use them than get all embarrassed buying one. so it is a big help for schools to be distributing condoms and keep it on the dl.

haha...mm, sorry i know its no laughing matter but, i think back...and my school used to distribute condoms. publically. at those safe sex or no sex assembly things. that was...until teachers and students and mostly the janitors started finding used condoms hanging off doorknobs, in closets, and even in the desks in the classrooms yea. it was sick. so they stopped.

Ok, see.. now that is just stupid.. the whole point of schools distributing them is so that students dont get embarassed in requesting them.. it should be confidential

i think condoms should be passed out in highschool when the student is 15. and they should go to the nurse and ask for one. and maybe when they ask for one, the nurse can give out a deminstration out . when i learned how to put on a condom, my health teacher carved something that was shaped like a penis out of wood to make it look like one. Nurses should do that i think. that way, if the teenagers do decide to have sex, they'll know how to put it on.

But, i think abstinence is always the best choice...i'm waiting till marriage...

I'm scared of sex, period. my geahcer had a huge drill down on Sex ED, and he even showed us some clips of people with penisis and vaginas that were infected with herpes and stuff. Those pictures were so gross, it made me stay away from sex..and made me scared.

Yes! Most definitely! That would decrease the number of ppl getting infected with HIV/AIDS/STD's. It would make the school much safer. Hmm....actually that's a god point to bring up in my "Suggest School Improvements" meeting with the school board.

I agree...I think it would be like they are telling us it's okies to have sex before marriage you know...and some kids take things the wrong way when being told...so i'm on this one...i think they should pass condoms out...

no condoms should not be distributed in school. they should only be givin out by the nurse to ppl who are old enough. other than that i think it would be promoting underage sex.

i think it should,it mite be sending the wrong msg but people these days only have that 1 msg in their head haha... its better than having to go buy it in public,which most people are too ashamed or embarassed to and end up not using protection at all ;]

That would prevent diseases amongst the students but then it does tell them, "Go ahead as long as you have protection oh it doesn't matter if you are 12". As long as we can send a good message to everyone it doesn't matter how you say it. ::shrugs in confusion::

Wait your schools dont distribute condoms? My school does, the nurse and health teachers should have some and they're allowed to give it to you. Health clinics are the same, and i heard its illegal for stores to not sell u condoms...maybe its only california

yes because i think its more reasonable is the kids were actually able to get condoms instead of having sex without one which from there, can make a baby.

with condoms being givin at school, it will have the kids at least be safe about sex...

If you really think about it as soon as some kids get those condoms they will run STRAIGHT to the bathroom.
