Me and Mia! :) I love the lyric: do you believe in something beautiful. <3

I think some of these bands have been mentioned on the forums but they're not crazy popular or widely known.

The Honorary Title
The Fray (thanks to Stealth... Over My Head was a bit misplaced and yet the number one reason to buy the soundtrack)
Gary Jules (a bit unknown unless you've seen Donnie Darko)
The Rocket Summer
The Rentals (thank you, Mike Cera of AD)
The Decemberists
Teddy Thompson
The Bravery
The 88*
Rock Kills Kid*
Rogue Wave*
Sufjan Stevens*
Ray LaMontagne
JamisonParker

*One reason to watch The OC... good music!

I really like Merz, and I have yet to hear of him anywhere besides from one music blog that included a quote from Chris Martin.

well, someone the other day asked who jimi hendrix was. amusing.

But i have a few. I love Enter Shikari but they're getting more publicity underground now.
I like blacktop they're kinda local.
TAT are awesome. If you went to reading and watchedi n the tiny tent you may have seen them but not many did.
Shiny Toy Guns, some peopel havent heard them yet.

To be honest i dont know what people on here has heard so i cant say.

Most people these days have heard of
hot hot heat, we are scientists and so forth. ot hot heat did that one song that boomin radio1 kept playing.
And we are scientists have just made a breakthrough but if we are doing that type then:

Tsunami Bomb
The Academy Is
The Black Dahlia Murder
Hopesfall
The Human Abstract
Norma Jean
Le Tigre
Meshuggah
My Awesome Compliation
Floggin' Molly
Pennywise
The Red Chord
Sigur Ros

people have most likely heard of every band that i listen to...
though i'm more into the local stuff.

Paddlefoot
Sorrow Sweet Redemption

If you check out their website, there's 2 new demos on there. I'm not overly fond of them, though.

I think people are less oblivious than you realize. I had no idea how many people listened to the Postal Service, but really a lot do now. I never would have guessed it. And then I've only heard one person talk about the Arctic Monkeys before, but in all honesty, you have to have be living in a hole not to notice. There have been articles in the newspaper, magazines, features on tv, any music magazine, all over the internet, etc etc.
