If you look at something long enough,
You will almost inevitably start to see The little cracks and flaws. And eventualy a crack can become a chasm So that you don't really like what you see anymore. Which is a real shame, If what you are looking at is yourself. And this self inspection is a bitch. Because somewhere in that god damn shame Is what needs fixing. And, you'll know that. But in order to fix it, you have to turn away from the mirror Which sucks, because it means that you've taken you're eye off of the problem. An eye for an I, And a sort of sacrafice. Or at the very least a glance to the sky. If the sun burns your cornias, you won't see the problem So can you fix it? Certainly you can ignore it. Possibly no the optimum route to self betterment, though. Which is where it all becomes problematic Because, if others broke their mirrors long ago Then eventually, you'll fall behind. And it'll be pretty damn hard to catch up if you're blind. So bite the bullet and turn around. I'm sure someone will be there to meet you. And it depends really on your outlook as to if it's you. Personally, I'm inclined to doubt it. Which makes me wonder if it's even worth doing For her? Well, her hands are in my pockets right now, not my pants, and all she's looking for is my cell. To call home, to find her own mirror to break And if I refuse to help blindfold her, Then why do I exspect them to wait for me to get it together? Isn't it a little selfish? But the whole thing is about being selfish. That was kinda my point, somewhere along that line. Have you ever sat and thought about anything so long that you understand it completely, But have no idea what it is you understand? Is it worth breaking the mirror for the answer, If by the time I've swept up the glass I've lost the answer At least pondering is making me think. A moot point now, because I've stood here so long wondering That it's time to face another day With my mirror in my pocket For constant reference. |
