I've heard that you have to be at least 17 years old to buy a game that's M-Rated. Is it possible for someone younger to buy it?

I want GTA:LCS, however it's M rated. And I want to buy it myself, since I have the money and my parents wouldn't buy me any game at all.

What stores sell people younger than 17 M-rated games? Thanks.

No store at all. None that I know of.
That would be against the law. You could try buying it online though.

Every store i've gone too requires you to show ID to purchase a M-rated game.

Try eBay or a garage sale. That's pretty much the only way. Any store that specializes in video games (Xgames, EB Games, etc) is going to ask for your ID.

It's possible. I'm 14 and I bought San Andreas in a store and the guy didn't even care. And as for the person above me, that's not entirely true. I bought Silent Hill 3, Socom II, GTA: Vice City, and Devil May Cry in EBX games and they didn't care about my age...I don't even look my age. I look younger.

Sure it's against the law for people under 17 to buy M-Rated games but there's usually at least one store around you that probably just doesn't care.

Im sorry, what? Since when is it illegal to sell m-rated games to minors? Sure, they've been trying to pass laws all over the country, but case after case has been deemed unconstitutional under the first amendment.

Now, whether or not its company policy for kids to buy, thats debateable. It is not however illegal.

Most of the bigger videogame stores have an official policy prohibiting the sales of videogame to minors, but when I was under 17, I was never asked to show ID. That was, however, at minimum three years ago (and I think the last M-rated game I bought "underage" was Perfect Dark, which is going back in time nearly six years), so the status quo may have changed since then.

Kid, ANYONE can buy an M-Rated game nowadays. I remember when "The Getaway" came out for PS2, I bought it w/out parent's consent, and I was 16. Same as with other games.
