yes. often i find myself often wondering what's happening with my favorite bands. i could stalk thier website, but with numerous favorites, it's quite difficult. Often, i will miss that a band i like has a new album untill i hear a single on the radio.
And so i turned to music websites like launch or MTV. and i found myself inundated by information about artists i didn't care about, like 50 cent or eminem. And often, news about the smaller bands i liked was passed over in favor of reporting about the latest news about lindsey lohan. I figured there must be a way, like how last FM shows you your personal charts. There had to be a way to show news from the bands i liked and only those. then i found something some of you might have heard of: http://www.bandnews.org/ simple to use, has an rss feed. shows me what i want to know. now, hopefully, i won't miss album releases or tour launches. (check it out. yes, it can go in entertainment. yes, it can go in technology. but in leiu of having to decide one instead of the other, i'm just going to stick it in the lounge. that's what it's for, right?) |
