It's not quite over yet, but performance of the night goes to Kanye West. Off the motherfreakin' hook! He did the damn thing.

But yo...how did Green Day get Record of the Year? And how did U2 get Song of the Year?

Yes sir, Kanye and Jamie took the icing off the cake with the band gig and that band set it off.

I guess you could see that Green Day thing coming. They're big. You've got millions of pre-teens/teens listening to them. It was a bit inevitable.

I'm happy for John Legend, as well. I love him. He's amazing. Simple as that.

I only caught part of it, but yes John Legend is amazing.

and I'm not suprised about Green Day. They are so popular now, it's almost making them unpopular if you know what i mean.

Well, I was really only looking forward to seeing the results from one category, and that would be "Best Metal Performance." Slipknot's "Before I Forget" won that award, so I'm very happy about that.

The only reason I was disappointed was because they never show the hard rock and metal awards being given out. They pretty much focus on pop and rap, which gets old year after year.

Weirdest moment of the night has to go to the Jay-Z/Linkin Park/Paul McCartney performance. They...damn...it was an inspirational moment, but a little sad all the same.

Speaking of Paul McCartney, I almost screamed when he played "Helter Skelter." Dude is like...70 and he still has it. So great.

And U2. There's no way in hell How to Dismantle and Atomic Bomb was better than both Paul McCartney's Chaos... and Kanyeezy's Late Registration. Paul and Kanye were robbed.

I loved Kanye and Jamies performance, I have to emphasize that again.

Jay-Z's/Linkin Park's perfomance with Paul McCartney shocked me but it was great.

I also enjoyed Chrstina Agilera's performance with jazz pianist Herbie Hancock.

Herbie Hancock is the truth. Her performance with him made me like her a hell of a lot more. Especially since Herbie's entering the winter of his life.

Glad that I'm not the only person to notice that. Greenday's album was aight, but it wasn't all that.

Personally, I thought Green Day's album was just as good as Kanye's. But if I were to decide it, Kanye would get it, IMO.

Major corporations wet themselves over U2's music.

Case in point; Pepsi.

They're internationally known and respect and their album was pretty decent. That's how they won.

The only reason Greenday won was because of the "trend" to be oh so in love with them.

Kanye Should won all 8 of his nominations. But did you see that Boy? He is soo cool, I'm glad he left with three. Anyways only two words for Mariah Carey "UP YOURS!" John Legend was really unexpected but he's still good all the same. The Grammys was raw this year,,,,

Agreed. I've been mulling this over with a friend of mine who is a major fan of U2. Even he thought that was weird. I didn't watch the Grammys, but I've read the winners list.

I'm pretty much cool with the awardees - but I can't for the life of me understand (other than for reasons Brandon stated) why U2 won so many awards. This was by far not their best album, in fact, it's probably my least favorite.

I don't know, it's a little unsettling.
