extended netowrk display problem Options

Sorry for making another topic about this kind of thing, but i edited my old one because it used to be about a different problem with the extended networks area and its way back on the 3rd page... and no one has replied at all!
Anyhow... here is my new problem! I took the code from this site on how to put an image in the extended networks area... but no image shows up?? Can anyone tell me what ive done wrong?? Thanks in advance

also does anyone have a quick fix for making the background of the blogs area be white and not transparent like it is now?
