Haha, you make me laugh! What's your name? Lol, you don't think these fine gentlemen are hot?

I'm flattered but still very upset.
My name is Nathaniel, but most of everyone calls me Nate.
Also, Jokes aren't funny.
They just make me cry and hope for Johnson sisters more.

QUOTE(Acid Bath Slayer @ Feb 22 2006, 10:27 PM) *
The main goal of Curling is to ensure that your marker or stone is nearest the center of a target down a long hall. Two teams face off against each other playing almost in a "Horse" like fashion. Teams of four take turns sliding their stones down to the other target, or house. Each team is given eight stones to slide, and will slide one per turn. In a normal turn one team mate will actually slide the stone across the ice, two others will brush the ice infront of the stone and other patches of ice with special brooms to increase distance and speed, also decreasing any spin or "curl", while the last member of the team may advise the other team mates or work as a spotter for the stone thrower at the end of the field.

The deliverer of the stone will aim and apply appropriate weight (force), and curl (spin or turn) to the rock to reach the desired point across the field.
[ |O ------|--------------|------ O| ]

A playing filed looks something like that, from a top view. Two houses on either side and a hall between the two. Play begins with both teams on one side of the field. Both teams will remain here during play until both teams have exhuasted all eight of their markers. Once each team has exhuasted all of their markers we reach an ending and another match will begin across the field on the opposite side.

At the end of each match, scoring will be done. In any given match only one team can score. The team with the marker nearest the center is scored. For each stone that is in the house (the target) that particular team recieves one point. However, they are only given points and scored for stones that are closer to the center of the house than the opposing team's closest stone.

Yeah. It's cool.

And, The Johnson sisters are perfect and amazing in everyway. wub.gif
Even if they don't win Gold medals.

This was perfect and more people need to see it.
Respect my Curling knowledge and love for the Johnson sisters.
(Specificly Cassie Johnson.)
(Sorry Jamie, you're perfect, but your sister is a bit more perfect than you.)

^ Actually, Canada's official sport is lacrosse. Strange, huh. Too bad we suck at that, too.

Hockey is the only thing we have. Eh.

Go Canucks!

YAY! i was so happy for her. sasha was one of only a few who had good techniques, flexibility and good hold. a lot of other skaters really sucked.

Completely understandable :) Yeah, that was pretty disappointing for Canada, but hey, we should all look forward to 2010! And well, I'm not the biggest fan of the Canucks...because I'm an Avs fan!! =]

Yay, I'm excited for the figure skating as well...but I have so much freaking homework. GR.

Aww, poor Sasha!

But I must admit, I was a fan of Japan :)

WOOT! Go Japan! <333

<-- Was never a fan of Sasha. Sorry.

Yeah, anyway. I still find that I must dwell on this whole hockey thing. Canada simply had no team dynamic. We were all over the place. =_=

I love the Avs, though, Teesa. I know you don't love Bertuzzi so much. Ah, well. Joe Sakic = <3. Hehe.

Sasha may have effed it up ROYALLY but she was still the most artistic skater out there, even after she fell. I never liked her before, but I certainly do respect her after tonight.

Yeah, Sasha kinda had this attitude-at least from my point of view-somtimes when people would interview her and stuff, so I'm not that sad that she got silver. Besides, getting silver is something to be extremely proud of! And I'm so happy for Japan for getting that gold. They must be soooo freaking proud.

Gigi--Yeah, you can see why I'm not the biggest fan of Vancouver! ;) But I'm happy to hear that you love the Avs!! Yay! I love Super Joe :), but my favorite is John-Michael Liles, if you couldn't tell already!

I'm pretty glad that Sasha didn't win gold. Eh, this is probably really mean of me to say, but I enjoyed watching her fall... twice.
I'm happy for Japan though, I thought she skated well.
Eh, I kinda hoped that Irena would have beaten Sasha for the silver.

You have a point. I've watched Sasha skate for wuite some time now. Honestly, I never thought that she was a strong jumper, but her flexibility is amazing. It's very beautiful the way she does her spirals. The jumps she needs to work on.

I'd have to agree .. partially. Yesterday (or the day before yesterday, whatever) when she was skating in the Short Program, she had this attitude. It wasn't a good one but it wasn't a bad one either. It was like an "I'd-like-to-see-you-top-that" kind of attitude.

Still, I think winning silver was pretty good for her.

Okay yeah, I admit, I thought so too >< It's just so hard (for me) to believe that Michelle Kwan's not there anymore =(

Oh well. Congrat to Shizuka! laugh.gif

This is going to sound really mean but...Irina got what she deserved, IMO. She knows she's not really up to competing like that anymore since her legs are effed up and she's relatively old.

Agreed, Carrie, about the Irina Slutskaya. I think Japan totally deserved gold. Arakawa executed her jumps so well, even though one of her triple lutzes or whatever it was supposed to be turned out to be a double. She could've gotten an extra 3 points for that, but eh. I thought she was very artistic, very expressive, and extremely flexible and elegant. Loved her.

I'd like to take the time to say, omigod, Sasha Cohen is gorgeous. I like the beginning when they zoomed on her face. So pretty. Too bad I don't like her.

EDIT// Teesa, the Summer Olympics are gonna be in Beijing! Jeff's gonna be a translator there. Oh so cool.
