Alright. This is sort of a complicated problem, I think. I'm somewhat new to lj, I mean I've had the account for a while but I never really got into the whole design of it until recently.
The basic problem is when I try to make a new layout for my profile, the code doesn't work and it just comes out as a default page with the color theme and yeah that would be about it. I tried changing the Available Styles but that didn't seem to help any. It's probably, or rather more likely, a problem with the codes but I can't seem to find out what it is. This is the code I have at the moment, but it isn't the code I want. This is just a code I made by fooling around with my friends code for her old layout. It's nothing like what she has so don't try to say I stole it from her because I barely did. Now as great as that is, it isn't what I want it to look like. I'm sure many of you are aware of Amy's Live Journal Help Webpage. I used that to make this code, but this one doesn't seem to work in my page (even when I change my available style to generator, which is the style I chose to make the page in). *I would like to note that in the preview, my code boxes had a bunch of </ br> in it, if they appear when I submit this than I apologize but I am unaware of how I may get rid of them* My LiveJournal is ElectricRemedy. |

Well when I first typed out this thing I had a different layout. Just like two days ago I edited the romance one. I'm changing it now yet again. Yeah I do need help.

That's what I thought, but I had to ask anyway for clarification. What did you need help with?

I'd suggest using this to start off with, as a skeleton of sorts, and then using that page as a reference for what does what. Codes from scratch hardly ever work if you're not used to the platform.
Also, it takes awhile to get it. Basic HTML/CSS knowladge would help you greatly, as well as knowing div layers. |

Well I know html/css, and some javascript. I think it's the layers that I'm getting lost with. But I think I'm catching on pretty quick, I just need to know the layer names or how to find out the names and stuff. Fishcake-y what were you refering to when you said "I'd suggest using this to start off with..." use what? The code I have at the moment?
