So my friends having her sweet sixteen soon and its formal, and I really dont know what to wear. I guess you could say I'm def. not the girliest girl out there, and I'm kinda questioning what to do. I'd rather not wear strapless, I'm scared it'll slip off and stuff like that, and I dont normally wear makup either ermm.gif

I'm nervous about what people think I guess, and I'm just over reacting because I dont normally dress up but idk what else to say. Help would be amazing if you understand all my rambling lol.

so you don't really want to dress up because you're afraid of what people may say? who cares what people say? you should dress up! lol it could make you feel more confident about yourself you know? and strapless dresses shouldn't fall off if it fits you right. you should just go out and go dress shopping! i used to be like the biggest tomboy ever. now i love going dress shopping! :) i think it's fun to just try on dresses and what not and see how i would look. you should try that out and see if there are any dresses that you like. if you don't want to wear a dress, then perhaps a nice skirt and a nice dressy shirt will do? seriously though i don't think you should worry about what others will say. lol. if you like how you look then it doesn't really matter. :)

oooh fashion! lol. well...if you have some money to spend, i'd say go to nordstrom's special occasion section. they have some FAB dresses! strapless or not. ask one of the sales people to help you out find something, they know what to do! you'll look fabulous no matter what. give the makeup a try too! you may not be girlie but hey you can give it a shot. try low key stuff like mascara eye shadow and lip gloss. check out mags like seventeen and cosmo girl they have some really cute looks! just try it out! even try wearing heels! if you're not a heel girl wear flats that match your dress (if you have a printed dress, wear solid color shoes or vise versa).
if you're totally stuck, go for your basic little black dress! spice it up with some gold bangles or silver ones (very chanel). just be you and don't worry about what everyone thinks!!! make an effort and they'll all be thinking "damn she looks so good!". no worries, just go for it!

OOh I would reccomend getting one of those halter top dresses that they sell at macy's. They have some cute summer dresses. Some of them look really fancy and yet are really comfortable. I'd buy a pair of heels that match but also buy a pair of flats too that way if your feet start to hurt you can wear flats that are still cute vs. sneakers that'll make it look cheapy and not dressable. And when it comes to make up maybe wear a light shade of eyeshadow, brown mascara that way it doesn't stand out as much, and a clear // sparkly lip gloss. I dunno that's just my suggestion.

Most people cant picture me in a dress, Im kinda a tomboy myself.

I like to dress up for specially occasions, when I wore a dress to a dance, I got tons of complements.

That will probably happen to you too.
