superbowl mvps

seriously it was a very boring game, refs sucked like usual.. my notes

JANET JACKSON RUINED ALL HALFTIME SHOWS. EVER SINCE JANET WE GOT OLD ROCK BANDS AT ALL THE HALFTIME SHOWS.. meatloaf??? rolling stones?? i thopught i was watching that fed ex commrecial cause those dudes look like dinosaurs.. i thought this was detriot! kid rock? eminem? how are they gonna limit stevie wonder patty labelle aretha franklin to the pregame festivities.. halftime shows are absolutely trash

commercials.. eh the only good ones were the fed ex one and the magic freezer one.. they did diet coke dirty.. lol

I SWEAR the nfl is fixed.. while the refs were trying to make it as climatic as possible, the game still sucked. i mean damn, there were like 10 commercials of the steeler players holding the lombardi trophy.. the nfl is fixed..

what a waste of time.. at least i won 50 dollars lol.. i was scared cause they might have kicked a field goal and i betted that the steelers would win by a 10 point spread

Oh Steven, how I agree. The national anthem was so weird and the halftime show almost put me to sleep. The halftime shows are so ridiculously lame now. People need to get over it.
The game was pretty boring the first half, and I must say, that touchdown that Ben made...I didn't agree with it at all. But whatever.
The Fed-Ex commercial was funny, and that Sierra Mist one (even though I hate the regular ones), and the magic turning wall commercial was good too.
Hmm, they had one of Matt holding the trophy!! Lol.

It was a fantastic defensive game. A good game isn't always about a bunch of points. The Patriots? They were there...Tom Brady did the coin toss.

^^ As for the rushing touchdown, the ball only needs to break the outer plane. It clearly did before his arm hit the ground.

eh i dont think the touchdown at the end of the half really mattered because even if they ruled it wasnt a touchdown the ball still would have been spotted at the one inch line, and the steelers would have scored anyways

the call that i disagree with is the pass interference in the endzone.. f**k was that?? that was a pushoff?? LOL

and i agree the national anthem.. what the f??? LOL aaron neville jsut rioned the whole thing but aretha franklin saved it i guess

He pushed off to gain separation to make the catch. That's illegal.

Yeah, well, still...I didn't think refs made the right call. But whatever. And that was not a pass interference!! Haha, he just sorta touched him ever-so-lightly and BOOM, that's pass interference for ya.

i think you are a bit biased

you do not have to enlighten me about the rules, trust me, but that is easily a call that could have gone either way or just not called at all. that was even weaker than the michael jordan push off in game 6 of the nba finals against bryan russel, and that wasnt even called LOL

And you're not biased? Quit whining about it. If it was so close, it would have been challenged by Holmgren and it wasn't. Great teams have the ability to overcome those situations.

no i am not biased. i wasnt rooting for either team. holding could be called on almost every play, but instead it was called on almost every major seahawks play. this was even worse officiated than a duke college basketball game. when you switch directions from right to left as jackson had done and move your arms in position to catch the football, your arm swings from your right side to your left side. clearly the steelers were the better team, but a more interesting superbowl would be one that was more fairly officiated

Although it was VERY good game, it didn't lived up to the hype. As I stated before, I really thought either team derserved it, I was just rooting for the Seahawks 'cuz it was an NFC team. But Steelers had my respect for an AFC team.

First half was kinda slow. Not much going on. Maybe 1 or 2 big plays.

Second half was nice. What Im WISHING for now is that hopefully the Steelers let Antwaan Randle El go, and maybe the Eagles or the Bears could pick him up, I think the Eagles need him more. Again, the icing on the cake with that BEAUTIFUL pass from Antwaan Randle El to Hines Ward. BEST play I've seen in a SuperBowl game. Trick play works once AGAIN. First time ever a WR throws a touchdown pass in a SuperBowl game. BIG PROPS to Antwaan Randle El. And what can I say 'bout "The Bus". You coulnd't write a better ending story. He grew up in his hometown Detroit, he finished his career at Detroit with a SuperBowl win. It's the perfect ending. "The Bus" is now parked in the garage.

To the Seahwaks, they too played a great game. In my opinion, I highly doubt this team will make it far next year. The Steelers are just starting. Congrats. to both teams. Congrats. to the MVP, Hines Ward. Congrats. to Mike Cowher. Congrats. to the Steelers.

PS. Im on a loosing record streak in the SuperBowl...Since I've started watching the NFL and SuperBowl in 1998 (SuperBowl XXXII), this is how my record is so far:

XXXII - Denver 31, Green Bay 24
XXXIII - Denver 34, Atlanta 19
XXXIV - St. Louis 23, Tennessee 16
XXXV - Baltimore 34, N.Y. Giants 7
XXXVI - New England 20, St. Louis 17
XXXVII - Tampa Bay 48, Oakland 21
XXXVIII - New England 32, Carolina 29
XXXIX - New England 24, Philadelphia 21
XL - Pittsburgh 21, Seattle 10

Picks Are In Bold

I agree with the hype. Although I'm a diehard Steeler fan, they were way over hyped for this game. Seattle had the most prolific offensive production this year and they didn't get nearly the press Pittsburgh did.

I think the economic value of the game has overpowered what was once a championship football game. It has gotten so bad, as many others have stated, the events surrounding the game are equally anticipated and at the point where they can't keep up either. (commercials and entertainment)

And now all the Steelers fans at my school are bragging. _dry.gif

Quite a bit too, since we're in Indiana [Colts].

Not that I don't like the Steelers, because they sure deserved to win.

ya. commercials were more exciting.

did u see the one about the mom and daughter, and the husband was in the hospital? the mom's like, "we're gonna see daddy!" the daughter's like, "OK!" and meanwhile 2 doctors are gonna do something on him, and they had the CPR shocker thingys. and a fly flew by, and the doctor went BZZZT and killed the fly. right as the mom and daughter walked in the room, he goes "well, that sure killed him!" biggrin.gif
