basically tried to use a template (off a website building page) as a starting point in photoshop cs2, then tweaked it in imageready. trying to open the file in dreamweaver8, but slices are dispositioned and moving them around frustrates me even more. couldn't really locate something in cb tutorials since most of them starts off from scratch. don't have a sample since nothing really is completed at the time. anyone got some tips of the trade to teach this newb at div overlay using a template? thought it'd be easier since i'd just input pix, edit info there, remove links here, then finally add credits there...not quite as easy as i thought. any kind of input would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

what exactly do you need help with actually?
if you just like need to make it so the template thing is showing well you need to hide your profile stuff and such CODE <div class="bg" style="position: absolute; left:0px; top:50px; width:925px; height:665px; overflow: hidden;"> <img src="URL"border=0> </div> may need to change the height and width and well the position stuff too. |

Dreamweaver doesn't really help with myspace. Since it sometimes, and I just said sometimes gives you the wrong coordinates. So anyways dreamweaver usually helps you get close to where you want your info to go but not really.
If you want a template? I don't know of anny but a generator could help you out in the begining. Then you cna just work your way up. http://www.bbzspace.com/overlay/ |

so if i created the page to what i wanted it to look like on photoshop cs2, what would be the next best step to attaining the myspace codes? having no trouble hiding my profile at this time, just that when i reopen my file in dreamweaver, the slices have been shifted...as you can tell, still a rookie at this...thanks!

After making it in photoshop cs I woud say to just place the image in the part of the hide your profile code where it says content here in who'd I like to meet. Then you just use the following code to align your content:
CODE <div class="content" style="position: absolute; left:000px; top:000px; width:000px; height:000px; overflow: auto;"><center> lalalalala this is your content! </div> edit the settings etc. |
