Lluvy was one of my favorite contestants from Cycle 4, even though she didn't perform as well as I had hoped. I came across a larger promo picture of her on some ANTM fansite, The America's Next Top Model Resource and decided to vector it.

Ignore the arm on the left, I have to do some major damage control to it.

Edit:

Too bad you can't really see the details from the screenshot.

Edit:

An obscene amount of time was spent on the jeans. And I'm still not done. And my neck hurts.

Edit:

Edit: Finished.

I think I'll use the upper body in a layout.

I really like the smoothness of your shapes. The hair's coming off well!

Are you using the same skin palette as last time? If my memory serves me right, that skin palette had a lot of shades on it. So that usually means it's for a vector posterized at a high level. Maybe you should look into that? What level to you posterize to now?

I think it would add so much more realisticness to your vector, because you've really got the basics down. You're ready to amp it up!

Oh, if you posterize to a higher level, it becomes harder to see the different layers...try resizing the image. Maybe double the size, and smart blur it to smooth it out. It'll get all the dotty stuff out and the layers will be easier to see, so more layers will be easier too! =)

Nah, not using a pallette. And I didn't want that many skin layers so I didn't posterize that much. Barely at all. Nor did I want to make the skin a realistic colour. But I'll definitely keep in mind the enlarge the picture trick next time.

Aww, I love it so far! The jeans came out really nice. One thing, how'd you do the "holes" in her hair? I couldn't figure out how to do it in Illustrator so I switched to Photoshop and lost quality.

But did it cut a space into the layer(s) in the hair or are they just paths that have been fillled in with white? Cause I couldn't figure out how to do the former. pinch.gif

Ooh, I love it Carrie! flowers.gif I am loving the way you did the clothes! The only thing that's a little off is the nose. I think it could be shaded a little more.
