I was wondering does anyone know how to take of the background behind the titles on the desktop of a windows xp computer?

right click>>properties>>desktop>>color>>choose an empty custom color...i think that's how you get rid of it
edit//nevermind.. it didn't work  i don't think you can get rid of it unless you are using the backgrounds that were provided.

Mine only did that when I set my wallpaper as a .PNG. I'm sure there is a way to change this in the Advanced Properties of the Appearence tab.

Right-click on My Computer and go to the Advanced tab. Check Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop.
It might not work for all themes. (If you use Windows Classic instead of Luna, it might always show label backgrounds--I can't remember.) |

2. Open Display Properties. 3. Click the Desktop tab. 4. Click the Customize Desktop button. 5. Click the Web tab in the Desktop Items window. 6. Disable Active Desktop, make sure all checkboxes in this window are un-checked. |
