Many nights and days of boredom have kept me company in my cabin...
and I realized thismorning that my eyes have lost color and my hands become idle in the task that brought me here
Would they say what if they saw me now?
My pantry shelves are lined with cans of candy and bags of bad.
The wind sneaks in and picks up my curtain revealing my hide in place to a city I can't be part of.
But I am no news to the people out there. There is nothing extraordinary about me.
Here people sunbathe naked and sit in hot coffee shops alone and together.
They smoke herbs of unusual flavor and dress up as their favorite historical figures.
Here, the word inappropriate is quite alien.
Eyes are black grey, green, brown, blue, purple, and even yellow.
Gutter children celebrate with the with the heavy in pocket.
And the sun screams out to all "YOU ARE LOVED." Because there is celebration of person but no favoritism.
There is laughter outside my sanctuary and I have shunned away their sun for the solitude of a deck of cards,
a cell phone with no numbers in it, and paper- beautiful, clean, white paper.
It shames me that sometimes I have to rape it with my pen to get any work done.
But where does inspiration come from when the thought of all those people makes your stomach ache?
