You know, there's really no point to nominating members more than one time since these are nominations, and not votes. I was the first to nominate Steven.

...

Actually there is, in many nominations, so many people have to nominate one person.

"I nominate Bob."
"I second that nomination."

etc.

Not really, not in this case. Since staff is choosing from these anyway, many people nominating same person is just redudancy.

But it does help sway their votes a bit. Let's say they are tied on two people, Bob and Susie. The staff is even on this. Bob has one nomination, while Susie has seven. Who is more likely to be member of the month now? Most likely Susie will be. Though it does get repetitive, and it doesn't matter if Susie has 11 nomination and you want to nominate her.

I third the nomination for Chii.

It all depends whether they're popular with the moderators.

not true. back in october there was a thread where people put who they think should be picked for staff out of the people that applied. michael (mipadi) was number 1 with a bunch of votes, but he wasnt modded then. he got beat by suzzette, julia, lorena, and someone else. he didnt get picked until december, so just because someone is nominated a bunch, doesnt mean that is going to sway the vote.

I know there are exceptions, and it really only happens if the people picking are tied and no one will budge.
