You've seen her touch a 2,500 degree flame ?

..

It might be real. Might not. Read reviews for the lighter, see what people said who already bought it.

It probably can melt a penny.

If you hold it on the penny long enough that is...

I don't think that it could melt a penny.

I'm a smoker and I wouldn't go near such a thing. Besides, why would someone want something that potentially disasterous?

rolleyes.gif Please. Unless I decide to throw a lit cigarette that causes major fires, I don't think that's relevant. Move it to debate if this a smoking bash.

^ I'm a little off topic (okay, fine a lot), but I like you. =)

You don't need that much energy to melt a penny, yano. Zinc melts around 420ºC. Use a Bunsen burner, if you're that bored. -_-

Haha.

Also, I don't see anybody getting this lighter to light a cigerette. More like a novelty collectors item.

Why would you melt a penny?
Deposit every penny you find/own into your piggy bank. Trust me on this. It adds up after a while.

People will say anything to sell.

:O I didn't even know fire could hit 2500 degrees Fahrenheit! That's like.. 10x the temperature of boiling point.

It seems interesting, but I don't really believe in it. And the fact that it's a blue flame.. There could be a certain chemical in it making it appear blue. We tried it in chemistry! :D Potassium makes pink fire happy.gif

well...2,500/212 gives u 11.792452830188679245283018867925 etc etc...that's 11.7 and it's heading to 12 if u round it up. i heard it's just butane filled, like most other lighters...i've even seen some of these lighters. just dunno if it's 2,500 F. though it's really hot i know and u can hear the jet comin from it and if u put ur hand about 50 cm from the direction of the flame u can feel the intense heat radiated from it...
potassium compounds give a lilac or purple color when put with a flame. i've done it before...Na compounds = yellow flame, Li compounds = red flame, Cu compounds = green flame, Ca compounds = brick-red flame and so on...

totally agreed. there are better ways to die. at least a flaming house can kill faster, and with less pain, than a cigarette...
if u wanna die, make it quick. or at least make it so u dont feel a hell load of pain before u go.

^ Double posting is bad for your health. And once again, issues with smoking need to be moved to debate.

I also found a site claiming to sell these, although I still can't understand what the interest in buying one would be.

Yeah, do you really need to light a cigarette with a 2,500 degree lighter?

Sounds like something that arsonist in the high school down the street would want though.. laugh.gif
