morals to live by each day

I know many of you are and are not Christians, but I still believe it is an imperative lesson everyone can learn and a profound moral everyone can live by each day.

QUOTE
Today, upon a bus
I saw a girl with golden hair,
And wished I was as fair

When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle,
She had one leg and wore a crutch
But as she passed, she passed a smile

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two legs, the world is mine.

I stopped to buy some candy,
The lad who sold it had such charm,
I talked with him, he seemed so glad,
If I were late, it'd do no harm.

And as I left, he said to me,
"I thank you, you've been so kind,
It's nice to talk with folks like you,
You see," he said, "I'm blind."

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I have two eyes, the world is mine

Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue,
He stood and watched the others play,
He did not know what to do

I stopped a moment and then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word
And then I knew he couldn't hear

With feet to take me where I'd go,
With eyes to see the sunset's glow,
With ears to hear what I'd know

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

edit;
i believe i posted in the wron forum. if the moderators would be kind enough to move it to the appropriate section, i'd greatly appreciate it.

It could go into the Writing forum, but it's so overlooked and I want people to read this.

^Exactly. I think it should stay RIGHT here.

I think everyone should read this and take it to heart. It is really important to be thankful for what you have.

Even though I am not Christian, I still believe that people should be thankful for what they have, most people don't realize how well they are off in the world, when there are people starving and freezing and homeless. Very good topic.

MF Doom sighs.

I often feel as though I am an odd beast because I am far from materialistic. Over the past 15 years, I've made a healthy amount of money, but I still choose to live meagerly in my Long Island apartment where I'm free to spend my days raising my seed, reading, writing rhymes and surfing the net. I have the world. Family, shelter, hobbies and good health.

MF Doom's point..

Stop bitching. Life is good.
