OK, here is my deal. This started to happen to me 5 days ago on myspace. When I log onto myspace account, and scroll down to look at my first top 8 friends, one of my friend's default display picture will either be a banner add that is usually found on the top of myspace pages, or a regular advertisement off myspace. Also, while surfing around on myspace, my friend's original display picture will RANDOMLY appear where there are advertisements on myspace, in the banner ads and also on the regular ads. If I go onto my friend's myspace page, sometimes, the advertisement will be where my friends display picture is supposed to be, and it does not matter WHAT link I click on on my friends page, my internet explorer will crash. Other times, my friends original display picture shows up fine, but still, no matter what link I click on on his page, my internet explorer still crashes. Please note that this is only happening on ONE of my 166 friends on myspace!
Here are a few screen shots to see exactily what I am talking about, because I know this sounds rather confusing. HERE IS MY TOP 8 LIST. THE PERSON CIRCLED IN RED IS WHERE I AM SEEING THIS ADVERTISEMENT. ![]() HERE IS WHERE MY FRIENDS ORIGINAL DISPLAY PICTURE WILL RANDOMLY APPEAR ON MYSPACE, WITH A LINK DIRECTING ME TO THE SITE CIRCLED IN RED AS WELL. ![]() HERE IS WHERE MY FRIENDS ORIGINAL DISPLAY PICTURE WILL SHOW UP WHERE THE BANNER AD IS SUPPOSED TO BE ![]() HERE IS ALSO ANOTHER RANDOM ADVERTISEMENT REPLACED WHERE MY FRIEND'S DISPLAY PICTURE IS SUPPOSED TO BE. ![]() This problem is seriously starting to aggervate me, anybody that knows how I can fix this or any ideas would be greatly appriciated. thanks for your time. - she who says |

it could be a myspace glitch, try messaging the site, or it could be something worng with your's or his coding. post your codes, and maybe i can see whats wrong. but your best bet is to message the myspace support group on the site and ask them whats wrong. i think its a glitch because its happening on your main page and in the ads

I am sure it has nothing to do with the actual codes for both pages. I checked both my profile, and my friends profile with my laptop, and there are no advertisements or anything out of the ordinary on it. everything on each page is fine when checked from a different computer. I am in the process of contacting myspace about this problem. thank you anyway.
any more ideas? |

I scanned my computer with Norton, Ad-Aware Personal Adition, and also SpywareBlaster, all are up to current date, and still they found nothing out of the ordinary.

ALRIGHT! Well, it seems as though I fixed the problem. As I figured, it had absolutley nothing to do with the page's codes or anything like that. It seems as though my ZoneAlarm firewall had Ad blocking turned on. I turned it off, and those advertisements are now back to normal how they are supposed to be. my friend's profile works fine now, it is not crashing when links are clicked on, and also, his display picture is not replaced by advertisements either.
So.....it appears the moral of this story is: If you have ZoneAlarm installed, it may be blocking certian advertisement links that myspace uses and needs to display properly, and if they are blocked, the profile pages may appear messed up, like mine were. Thank you all for the suggestions, I really appriciate it. - she who says |
