Hide old Friends list, but not comments? Options

I have made a custom friends list, that works perfect with a comment box using this link.

It worked fine, but now I want to hide my old friends list, but have the comments remain. I have tried pasting

<style type="text/css">.comments {visibility:hidden;display:none;}</style>

in the about me, also tried....

and also this in the about me section at the end.

<div style="position:relative; height:100px; overflow:hidden; border:0px;"> <div class="comment"> <table><tr><td> <table><tr><td>

But I can only either get... My custom friend list, along with the new one and the comments I have.

Or.

Just my new friends list, with no comments. Any help would be great, what you need to figure this out
