slightly confused..., needing some opinions Options

There is this boy Dan who is in my first hour weight lifting class. I've never really talked to him except once he told me that he would vote for me for homecoming queen, but basically we've always said hi but never really had a conversation.
well last week he added me on messenger and was saying how his friend chelsea said me and him should hook up, and i didnt really knwo what to say to it, so i was like like "oh thats interesting" and hes like "i know..." and then i talked to chelsea about it and she said she never said that.
then i talked to my friend erin and apparently he was telling her that 5 or so people were telling him that he should get together with me. that same day i got an offline that said "hey steph hows it goin, i cant wait to see you on monday in class well have a good weekend"
I think he's a real cutie but he's also two years younger.
i dont really know how to take it all, if i should say anything, or go for it, or not...or if it means anything?

I think that he likes you because he said one his friends said that you two should go out, and she never even said she said that....but yeah, take a walk in a park n see what topics r talked about n see if you too kiss or something ,awww
