You should restate your words "why are today's african americans still holding us accountable?"

You are implying that all african americans hold a grudge against all white people for the enslavement of blacks. That's a little unfair not all black people are angry at whites... just like not all whites discriminate against blacks. stubborn.gif

Furthermore, this doesn't prove that there is a "glass ceiling"... it just proves that 1.5 million women have PMS.

People can't let those kinds of things just...'go' People discriminated against them and that is something to be upset about. And, as humans, we just HAVE to point to a certain group of people to put the blame on. Think about it. It doesn't have to be you YOURSELF who does this, but the majority of people in society in GENERAL. A few years ago, the US declared all Issen and Niisen (Japanese) as spies during WWII and imprisoned them in camps. People say that the conditions weren't 'as harsh' as the ones the Germans used for the Jewish camps (another example; Germans blamed homosexuals, people who weren't "blond-blue eyed" and Jewish people). To that, I say this:

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - you really don't know anything, do you?"

Another example: We considered ALL RUSSIANS as spies during the "OMFG! COMMUNISION!" time in our Americany world.

Another example: As of 9/11, we had considered ALL MUSLIMS as spies during the "OMFG! TERRORISM!!" time in our Americany world.

Another example: Koreans still riducule, blame and despise the Japanese after what they did to them. (Why can't THEY just let it go?)

All in all, it's just like that. If we as a society feel threatened by something or someone, most of us feel the need to blame somebody...

And if you say "HELL NO" to THAT, think of this time:

You and your younger sibling/friend are 5-7 years old. One of you broke a lamp in the house after playing a bit too rough. Mother comes in.

Mother: "Who broke the lamp?"

Both kids: "SHE/HE DID IT!!!"

...yes, THAT was yet, another example....

I could see why African Americans would still be bitter towards whites. Even after they were emancipated, they still went through A LOT of crap in the 60s with the whole civil rights movement.

That's racist. huh.gif
You're saying that you can see why blacks would be bitter towards whites just because other white people in the past had discriminated against and enslaved a black population? So, you're saying that you can see why blacks could be racist? rolleyes.gif

How on earth was that racist? blink.gif

But yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Just because I said I could see why doesn't mean I am advocating it.

Well, if blacks are acting like that, then that is racist.
And, you're saying, pretty much, that you can see how they could be racist.
I wasn't saying that you were advocating it or not, or that what you think is racist, just that if it were true, the blacks who felt bitter towards the whites, just because they were white, would be racist. whistling.gif

But you never see anybody complaining about the leader of that tribe that SOLD them like a friggin piece of fish....WE'RE ALL HUMAN BEINGS!! Don't get me wrong, im completely against slavery, but stop whining about something that didn't even happen to you.

No one's whining right now about slavery. After reading your post, I really need to tell you something: STOP JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS!! You are generalizing whole races ("why are today's african americans still holding us accountable?"), and I that's unfair! Racists that bring up the subject of the past and use it in an offensive way make African Americans angry. It's just something people don't want to hear, especially in the new society. Whether you want to believe it or not, people are discriminated because of race everywhere, all the time. We are all human beings, but everyone is biased in some way or another. People have to learn to be open-minded, but it's happening very very slowly.

African Americans complaining about slavery even though it didn't happen to them ... I know this pay sound blunt, but they should no longer use that as a crutch (nor should other races use it as a "weakspot"). We need to put the past aside, and anyone who hasn't done that is simply just ignorant.

So, my point? African Americans and Caucasian Americans are not always head to head, truly. There are, however, a few ignorant racists out there that are having a little trouble catching on to present-day reality.
