just got photoshop, color question

where do you set foreground colors?

i'm trying to do a vexel by following this tutorial from yoursite.nu and it said to set the foreground color to #D9BA8D, how do i do that?

press the color box and replace the original code with that and pres okay.

ok, i used the pen tool and following the directions and so forth. here's what i got and i know this is wrong. how do i correct this?

Click on the layer with the pen shapes in that little box in the corner and change the opacity.

Ah.. It looks like what you did is filled in the background instead of her arm. Make sure you go all the way around the part you want to fill and then click on the original point to close. It'll be the first square you clicked on, and clicking on that will make your path. I'm pretty sure that will fix it. :)
