Hiya...
I'm just recustomizin my xanga and thought of puttin a background on my blog entries. That isnt a problem. But i want the background to 'fade' a bit. I 've used: filter: alpha (opacity=??, finishopacity=??, style=?) but the writin also fades with the background. How do i only get the background to fade and not the writin? Also, is there other alternatives to the word 'alpha' on that code? Hope someone could help me. Thank

There really isn't a way to do that with just the picture and not the text, unfortunately. Still haven't figured that one out...

Translucent .gif image set as you're background - about 1oopx by 1oopx - repeat in all directions.
That way, it's translucent but the words aren't |

Meaning you can create a .gif image that can be a little transparent and use that as your background image. Then, no filter code is needed. Thing is, paint won't do anything like that.
