I was looking over my 25 top play songs list, and I noticed, wow, there's no variation to this at all. Soooo much New Pornographers and Death Cab! (arrggghh I can't believe I'm missing both their concerts! Death Cab is tonight, too). What's on your top played list? any weird patterns?

Err, here it is, a lot of love type songs:

PS- I'm starting to really like The New Pornographers, and I already love Death Cab For Cutie. They're playing here on Wednesday, but my parents won't let me go (until after college apps are all done).

^ yeah, me too. I leave it on shuffle most of the time, so I wind up with a shitload of Death Cab and New Pornographers becuase besides that I'm going through a slight obsession, I just have a larger ratio of their music than most others. I'm surprised I don't have a ton of Modest Mouse up there, but I guess it's in the just barely didn't make the list area, since most things are. I've listened to a lot of things remarkably equally. Hooray for random shuffle!!

Yes! I love the shuffle button! Makes it so much easier to play music! I hate picking music, its annoying. I can never pick the "right" song. I go through random music obsessions as well biggrin.gif

Yeah! most of the time, even when there's something I want to listen to I'll set it on shuffle so everything after that isn't predicatble. I'm so bad about mini-obsessions. Its easier to avoid with the iPod, but with cds, I'd go through weeks or even months at a time of listening mainly only to a minimal amount of artists.

I always find mini obsessions annoying. For example, I'm going through my Maximo Park and Franz Ferdinand (??) phase right now. Like a month from now, I'll be like "Why did I even listen to that?"

Did you notice in the song 1985, that one of the lyrics are "What ever happen to sitcoms, game shows on the radio" which I thought was kinda funny since gameshows on the radio was back in the 40s.

Well, the "on the radio was" line goes with the next block. So the lyrics are:

"What ever happened to sitcoms, game shows?

On the radio was
Springstein, Madonna
Way before Nirvana
..."
