Have you formatted your memory stick?
To format, just go to Settings -> System Settings -> Format Memory Stick. It can only play ATRAC3plus and MP3 music files, but if you've updated to version 2.00 it can also play MPEG-4 AAC (MP4) and WAV music files. If you don't know how to transfer files: When the PSP is connected to your computer with the USB cord, on your PSP, go to Settings -> USB Connection, and wait for your computer to detect the PSP. Then on your computer go to My Computer and click on drive F: or whatever removable disk drive. This should open up a window which shows all the files & folders saved on your memory stick. To transfer music files, just click and drag your desired (and compatible) music files you want from your computer to the PSP/MUSIC folder. I hope this helps. |

there are three ways to update:
1. via Network Update, under Settings. (Requires a wireless internet connection.) 2. via USB. download the file from the offical playstation portable website and transfer it to your psp under the PSP/GAME folder. 3. via UMD. new UMDs include updates if it's required to play/listen/watch the UMD. The update process is the same for all 3. |
