BG Color on Tables (?) Options

Hey, I feel quite dumb asking this question, but I don't know how to edit the background color of the tables.

http://www.myspace.com/dissectthisnerve is the site, you see how the background is fixed, and you can barely see the font? I want to have the table have a background color where you can see the font. I just need a brief explanation. I'm not really adapted with CSS, I'm usually on my Xanga using basic HTML.

If anyone could respond and give me some guidance that would be very helpful. I've been trying to find out how to do that for quite a while. If you need the HTML just ask. If all else fails I guess I could change my background.

Also if there's another thread out there (I'm confident that there's not), give a link and I'll go check it out. I've searched and couldn't find any matches. I hope you all could give me some help.


Edit: Okay I got it to work, but I guess I shouldn't leave this threat useless right? Well what I did was go to a Deltox Myspace Editor and create a layout. It's a cheap way, but it gets the job done. Sorry for wasting your all's time.
