Scrollbar and Modules, Help!! Options

I want to have a scrollbar in my custom module and I did search for the codes. I tried this two but they wont work: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96760
this one does nothing when i put the code in and replace the name for my custom module. did i do something wrong?
i also tried this one

all it does is leave a box above the words in the custom module. did i put it in the wrong place?




I also want extra modules on the lright side with modules on the left too. i tried this code: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69083 . but its not quite the way i want it to be. i want it to be like this: example .


Please help me or tell me what i did wrong!!
