the best time to do it (to avoid acne) is right after a shower in the sink or right after you wash your face with warm/hot water
and FYI guys, you dont have to use shaving cream, though it does help they make special LOTIONS that are like a soothing aftershave WHILE you shave |

I shave over the sink now, but i used to do it over the toilet.
