Transparent code for blog Options

i put this code in

and thats basically what i want except i want it to be semi transparent enough so i can see the background on my site, but still be able to read the white text when you scroll over it, what is the code for that?

Basically.. i can see that;s working.
You can just change the opacity to something higher so that the black is darker or change the black to another color. o.O

No i wanna be able to see the picture behind it when its over, when i change the opacity nothing changes

change it to a higher or lower number then. it has to be between 1 and 100 though. i guess you should probably change it to 50 or 55. or maybe even lower..

oh, wait. XD I forgot to say that i don't think it works on firefox. so if you're using firefox, then i guess it doesn't work.

aaah that sucks lol and there is no remedy to this or different code with the same effect?

i basically want to put a tinted box behind the text and pictures and when i looked at it in IE that code made everything in the box clear too, i just want a tinted black box behind my text so i can see my text a pictures i post but also the background

(Make and image, upload it, set it as the background for your blog. Save as transparent gif, forgot to say that.)
