no, i consider them to be ignoring the niche of hard core gamers, who need a controler always, and need uber graphics.

' I don't see how "having a controller" is attributable to hardcore gamers; to me, it seems hardcore gamers are more apt to accept a new controller style, whereas casual gamers are fine with a more traditional one. |

It would seem to me a hardcore gamer would be the one set in his ways, when a casual gamer would just go "Eh" and pick up whatever and play it.
But that brings me to a though, this guy reminded me of something. By making a "traditional" controller, wouldnt nintendo be cutting out a group of people who could very well buy the system? People with one hand/arm? They have jobs, and money, and can buy the system. Who says they arent allowed to play video games? |

A lot of people jerk a bit when they play games; that's different than swinging the controller around like a baseball bat. I'm also a bit skeptical that one-armed gamers are a large corner of the market. That's clearly a part of the market that is best served by a third-party specialist in one-handed gaming hardware. |

They dont have to be huge. QUOTE Sure, if a company doesn't want to sell that many units, they don't have to consider anyone a possible consumer; but as an adult with a job and money, most companies are going to consider me a consumer and attempt to sell me a unit. QUOTE Companies aren't trying to sell consoles only to those that already have them; or, at least, they shouldn't desire to stop there. A company most likely wants to sell as many units as they can, and hopefully bring in people who have never purchased a console before, or haven't in a while. I mean, common, a considerable amount of people are handicapped by a lack of limbs, including arms. Sure, your average joe on the street isnt, but your average joe doesnt really care, or know about the new Revolution controller either. |

I own over 16 systems, including the likes of the Atari 2600, the APF MP-1000, and of course the original Nintendo Entertainment System and every previous generation system. Games, I dont know, alot of them are in storage, but its alot. I wasnt trying to gauge credibility, I was trying to guage your status of casual Vs. dedicated gamer. Especially considering you said youve been playing games since you were three, I found your statement of you being casual to not be all that truthful. |

Maybe the game will have better graphics, maybe not. it looks alright. but i hope to see more. E3 isnt that far away. yay! Nintendo graphics are really smooth in my opinion. like playstation and xbox tend to make everything supremely real, making them look like cut outs and they definately dont match with their environment. In call of duty when you see the tip of your gun move you see like pixelated edges. i dunno if it is just me but that is what i see. |
