This maybe was a stupid quesiton, but I was just thinking, because high school to me was pretty tough, but I didn't get much homework as I did in elementary school. like when I was little, I have homework in every subject: math, reading, like every subject my teachers teach, they'll give homework in it.
In highschool, i only have 1 or 2 homework a day, sometimes project, sometimes none at all, and i take honors and ap classes, while these kids I tutored have STACK of homeworks each day. Is it cause my school is easy? or teachers tend to give less homework? what about you guys?

I dunno, maybe your school is easy. My high school is supposedly a really hard school, so the students usually get a lot of work, and we're known for staying up late just to get the homework done. And, even though it's senior year, I still have a lot of work.
But, I never really got any homework from elementary school...

Hmmm wow that's weird. Well our district is pretty normal how it's suppose to get hearder every year, but last year was like my easiest year ever, but this year I'm piled with homework everyday so I barely have anything to do after I'm done with my homework since I have to go to bed right after that,so yeah you're school might just be easy.

For my high school, it would be a MIRACLE if you don't get homework for one class. A LOT of homework, tests, and projects, but its fun.

I miss elementary school, practically no homework.

Elementary school was f**king easy and I went to one of the best in the state. Middle school was fine until I started algebra. High school is raping me. I swear I've gotten stupider. And yeah, a shit load more homework. That doesn't even make sense. In elementary school, you have only one teacher, so they know when you have too much. In high school, none of the teachers give a damn about other classes and assign things nearly everyday

Elementary school was a breeze for me. I went to an arts school, and always managed to finish stuff during class. I had homework maybe once a week. Now, I have about 3 or 4 hours of hw a day.

My 9 year old brother spends 2 hours a night on homework when I spend an average of an hour. I always thought that was weird, he got way more homework than I did in elementary school.

I miss Elementary!
I wish I could go back...
Everything was so easy back then, and so very fun!

Middle is...
Somehting to prepare you for the future.
And annoys me so.
I still miss nap time...

High school should be fun...
Probably hard, but not compared to college.
Just hope I can slide through these 4 years.

The only reason my sisters spend more time on their homework than I did (as in, past tense, when I was in elementary school. I always have more now) is not because they have more work- i think they have less- but because they're slower and dumber than I was

I think you just have all the right teachers.

Elementary school was extremely easy for me. In elementary, all you have to do is win over the teachers the first time and they'll love you for the rest of the year. But for high school, it's different. They don't pick favourites and they really mark you based on your performance. Sometimes I think that elementary teachers were way too easy on us, and made us unprepared for high school.

But yeah, it depends on the teachers you get. Some teachers (like my science, Mr MacDonald) just give you loads of homework on a very well-planned schedule. Some teachers, like my last year English's Ms Cowley, went along the curriculum slowly and freely, and assigned hw here and there when she felt like it. Yeah.

haha >.> okay, maybe it was my school, classes are tough tho, but my teachers hardly gave any homework. like my AP english, she would give us hw, but she never take it up; I mean, if you fail on your test, its your problem. just do your projects...

In elementary school and middle school, I got loads of homework but it was easy stuff. Now in high school, I don't bring home that much homework because I finish most of it in class. But what I get is definitely less than when I was in middle school.

gosh, i dont know why you think elementary is soo hard, because it is easy! i m in middle school taking algebra it is a little hard and easy, for me, it depends on the teacher..if the teacher is nice to me, i am eager to learn, if the teacher is evil <_< i dread coming to their class every day...

I'd like to be at your high school! With all the AP and honors classes I've taken, we would have homework, a paper, or a project due every single day plus a ton of reading. And if by some slim chance we didn't have anything, we would always need to be studying because we have tests more frequently. I didn't really get that much homework in elementary or middle school and when I did get homework, it was really easy. No, I don't have homework in every subject every day but I do get a fair amount of homework. I guess things are just different at your school or in your area.

omg, then I got the crazy teachers in elementary school, like they would make me make a sentence for all 20 spelling words each week, it takes me forever to finish thier hw. in high school, I only do homework in homeroom, unless its a project or something.

It also really depends on your teacher. For example, first term junior year, for AP US, I had a really good and easy teacher, and I barely got any work in his class. However, second term I had a harder teacher for the class and got more work.

Im in IB too.. it gets killer tough in grade 11.
Elementary was really easy, even middle school. You honestly just had to suck up, do your homework; and it didnt even matter if you did it right or wrong. High schools not like that.. :/

IB kills ><"

Elementary- plainly easy, nothing to worry about.
Middle- if you put an effort on it, you will get a B or A easily.
High- Tons of homework, quizzes, tests, etc. I am in the IB program too so everything is harder.
