i need some book recommendations. i've made a looong looong list a few years ago, and i'm down to the last hundred.
classics (like jane eyre, pride and prejudice, to kill a mockingbird, blah blah blah...) are what i'm reading now, but i like anything romance, or something that's got lots of cliffhangers, or is/was/written by a ny times best seller [author]. actually, those are my favorites. and i'm not allowed to read anything that involves religion hating or something like that, like the da vinci code. and keep in mind that im only in 7th grade. |

I would reccommend my personal favorite book series, The Tales of the Otori. It's a trilogy taking place in a ancient Japan sort of setting. It's a sweet love story with strange powers, warring tribes, death, and revenge. It will definately keep you on the edge of your seat.
There is a lot of gore and sadness (sadness mainly in the second book), but you may be able to handle it. I read them in the summer before 9th grade. There is one sex scene in the first book, but it's not descriptive at all. You just know what happened. It actually took me a while (in the following hapter) to realize what had happened. If you can handle all that, you should read it. Otherwise, wait until you're older. Another book you could read would be Artemis Fowl. My brother's reading it (he's going into 8th grade, but he read the first book in 7th) and I read it in middle school, too. It's a great book with magic, mystery, elves, and good vs. evil. Just as a heads up with this one, the main character is evil. (You find out in the first few pages, so it's not a spoiler lol) Rin-chan |
