I really love Toyas site. I like how she used wordpress, where it has all of the blog stuff along with all of her site stuff. I want mine to be the same way, blog stuff with site stuff. How do I do that?
Anyone know of a good tutorial? |

I like how you were able to change the default look of wp and change the nav so it has your menu, stom along with the wp recent comments and archives.

php includes. They're the easiest things ever. I thought they were hard, i mean, come on just the name makes it sounds hard, but really it's quite easy.
Lisa did mine in tables. Not sure how toya's was done though. I believe you could get the same effect from that though. |

I know how to work php includes so I guess I'm asking what files I have to edit to customise the look of the page and the navigation. Would I edit index.php page and just include my own header and the blog? If so what is the include for the blog? Cuz I alreday tried the includes and added my own header but the blog wouldn't show up. Also how to I inlcude the wp archives, top commenters, ect to the nav?

Lisa didn't do mine.
I made my whole layout in wp. So if you go to here you see my whole layout. All i did was put my header info in my header wp temp. same with footer/sidebar and included it in the main wp template and then on my index.php had the wp include you don't have to use tables. I use divs. |

^ my whole site is done in WP and it's so confusing. I still dont know how to take off the no right clicking thing.
It was so much easier with just the 4 files... |

Like my wp page is the onlyt hing coded in wp.
I made my own header& footer file for all the subpages. When i change my layout i do have to edit more pages than you but its easier Anyways to make your whole main page in wp you just need to edit the template and make sure you have the sidebar & footer includes in your template. Your sidebar but in the sidebar part, your footer if you want one in the footer part and header stuff. |

oh..
well. the only things i have to edit is the header.php in the wp themes directory. and then in the file im making ...like avatars.php (hayden!), i just include the header and footer files, which just require the header and footer files from the /blog directory. |

The reason I wanted wp is so it will plug commenters along with some other small things. Things that CuteNews doesn't do. |

^ well you don't have to do your whole layout in wp you can but you don't have to. You can use divs and iframes to just add it in your regular files.
I like wp for the comment plug and all the diff ways you can customize haha |

I know at bouncy-bubbles.net there is a tutorial on wp themes. I wasn't sure if thats what I needed but I'll look into it. For now I'm going to set it back to Cutenews until I finally figure out how to change it.
