i loved it too but it was sooo creepy. especially when the whole "incident" (aka crime) occurs. the whole description made me quiver. it was so gross and so bone chilling. |

This book was surprisingly good. The characters were very realistic. The only thing I hated was the ending when the dead girl gets... eh... "cozy" with the guy. It wasn't just creepy; it didn't go along with the story at ALL.

Sorry, but I had to bump it.
I agree with Retrogressive. Susie wanted so desperately to live again, then she comes back and spends her last moments on Earth having sex through her friends body. It was a poor ending. |

Not that the story was real, but that part definitely made me go eh? so unrealistic. It was strange, awkward and overall out of place. |

This is one of my favorite books. The first time I read it, I couldn't put it down; I think I finished it in about 2 full days. I literally sat there and read all day and night (it was during the summer). Such a fabulous book <---I feel bad for praising it because the subject matter is sad and depressing ha.

i read the lovely bones last year. holy moly, it was such an amazing book. nonstop crying...no lies. every time the dad had his own scene i would cry SO hard.

This book was so well written. I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. I can't wait for the movie; I just hope it doesn't completely destroy the novel in any way.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK. I read it Junior year, about 3-4 years ago. It was the best book I read freely on my own. It's a feminine book, but I loved it. It was so sad. I heard they are going to make a movie out of this. I can't wait!

I finished this last week, and it's easily one of my favorite books. I found only one problem: the "scene" where Susie closes her eyes and sees heaven felt way, way too Sci-Fi or Fantasy in a novel that was so accurate in depicting the human condition. But hey, as long as Ray
s happy. ;] I really, really felt for Lindsay, but even more so for her father - how could anyone not love him? Kind of makes you hate Susie's mom, which made it difficult to willingly fit her into the lovely bones at the end, but Sebold makes it work. |

I read the book last year and it was really good. But now I'm reading it again for my English class and I haven't been able to get into the book. We're going so into detail with the book and we did a lesson on the meaning of the quote in front of the book, the one on the penguin stuck in a snowglobe. That quote and the way it relates to Susie is probably my favorite part if the whole story.
