I'm working on the design of a new website, and I want to use some sort of subtle image for the background. I found this background on a website:
It's hard to see, but there's a very subtle image in the background. I'm looking to make an image in a similar style, mostly an outline with thick strokes for the image edges. Something very simple like that. However, I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing that, or what software to use. Any suggestions? |

Make an image with little to no contrast in the colours/hues you choose.

I think you answered the obvious part, "How do I select colors for this image?", and missed the more important question, "How do I go about drawing the image in the first place?"

Guess you'd use a vector imaging program to render the drawing as you want it to be. After you do that, change the colors to how you want them to be.

Illustrator would be best. You can do it in Photoshop but the lines might not end up as clean as it would in Illustrator.
Pen tool would be the best way. Do you have your image in mind yet? |
