I've been 5'even since I turned 15. Monday was my 18 'th birthday and my mom measured me as is tradition in my familyand I was a little below my 14th birthday mark of 4'9". Last fall when I went to the doctors I measured only 4'11" but didn't think anything of it I figured they measured wrong. I wondered why my jeans were getting too long & I have to roll them up now. I went to the doctor this morning and they measured me at 4'9" too. My records from the last 6 visits say 5' except for the last one that was 4'11". The doctor had no explantion; She said that it might be that I didn't grow taller as I filled out. Every one has been saying I looked shorter I thought they grew. The only good thing is I'm only 94lbs now. Has this happened to anyone else ? cry.gif cry.gif

Thanks a slightly shorter kelly!

Nope, i've never gotten shorter...that's kinda weird. I don't know what to tell you. - Maybe you'll have a sudden growth spurt or something.....

Well, the doctor already gave you an answer which I'm pretty sure is more accurate than what we are explaining to you.

Well, one cause of shrinking can be bone deterioration (this is what causes older people to get smaller as they age). But as long as you have proper nutrition, that shouldn't be a problem.

Your best answers will probably come from your doctor, though. If it's a real concern of yours, talk to her.

Bone deterioration seems a bit extreme considering the height difference and her age. I agree with suzzette, prob just a measuring mistake.

Yeah...I went to get a physical and was measured 5'5. Then I misplaced the form, and went back to get another physical just two weeks later and I was measured 5'4.

Now I just tell people I'm 5'4 1/2 rolleyes.gif. Yeah..just showing you that measuring mistakes can happen.

I thought that happened to me once. It was really cos everyone around me started just growing and i stayed same short me. Heres how it happened ?
Marlon: Bella, did you get shorter ?
Bella: No, wtf. How would i get shorter
Marlons: Iunno, you look smaller, eat some vegetables.
Bella: Im a vegetarian retard.
Marlon: Oh.

It was most likely a measuring mistake.

It's just a measuring mistake.

It happens to me too. I measured 154cm last year, and now this year I measure 152cm. ermm.gif

Yep. I've had some health issues lately so I've visited three different doctors who all have measured me within the same month. All their measurements were different, like I was shrinking. The first one said 5'6, the second one said 5'5 1/4, and the latest one said 5'4 3/4.

Hahaha.
