I'm more of a fan of earbuds myself, the only time I use my headphones are when I'm mixing and mastering and most importantly, not outside

I don't like ear buds either, which is why I own a pair of Porta-Pros. not only do they sound better than most earbuds, they are more comfortable. and they're still small enough that you don't look like a douche wearing them. |

I saw a few good prices on a vertex 2 but ended up getting a new motherboard and ram instead. upgrading to 4 GB DDR3 from 2 GB DDR2 and a nice new motherboard that overclocks better than my current $30 open box board. That's sweet. I remember my step up from 2GB. I was pretty happy with the increase in performance. Good bang for buck. everything just feels snappier. |

4GB is peanuts. I have 8GB in my laptop. you've probably also got a steady job, I'm working for a really unstable upstart business right now and that doesn't always go so well. I've still got another two banks open so I could fit another 8 GB in there no problem. obviously 4 GB sticks are expensive but I could do it. I'll have to work a little longer than the month between upgrades I've been doing lately though. |

Excuses, excuses. That's not your laptop. It's owned by RPI. Buy your own machine you wimp. Here's what I've got in mine: OS: Windows 7 64-bit CPU: Core 2 Dou E6550 2.3Ghz 1333FSB RAM: 4GB DDR2 800 MOBO: ECS P45T-A VIDEO: AMD HD 6970 2GB PSU: 650w Antec CASE: Antec 300 NIC: Bigfoot Killer NIC M1 HD: 80GB WD Velociraptor 10K RPM (Operating System), 1TB WD Green 7.2K RPM(Data/Games/Programs/MediaServer) Extras: Corsair H-50 liquid cooling... :P My CPU and RAM are 4 years old. This was originally an Dell Optiplex 380 with Windows XP. Just in case you're wondering, the Killer NIC really does work. There is a significant difference while playing MMOs and large scale FPS like Battlefield. I purchased it for 50.00 from someone on Craig's List. It was defective. I called the company, and they replaced it for the cost of shipping. I think my next purchase will be the Killer Nic 2100. |
