so i actually sat down this time and physically drew something out in my sketchbook...

critique is welcome, but i probably wont make anymore major changes after this. i'm officially wiped out. let me know if you notice anything about detailing that i should probably touch up.

this looks a lot better than the last one. i think it was good to get rid of the random people. it's not boring, it's just a lot cleaner and nicer feeling.

I think if you got rid of the white border around the the thumbnails it would be better.

like make them black or make them have no spacing at all? i changed them to be black right now. i can try to get rid of them but i'll need to figure out what that means for spacing. the white border was supposed to go with the white border around the pictures in the header. i like it either way though.

The empty space beneath the copyright makes the navigation seem unbalanced. Otherwise, I like your art portfolio.

hm yeah, i was planning to have more links, but i probably wont add any. i might try centering it or doing something with it.

and i changed the borders back to white. for some reason looking at the layout without them made me feel uneasy.

just a question though... i know the design is really left-heavy, but that's sort of how it's meant to be. i'm not sure if it's obvious that it was intentional or if it is obvious but just doesn't work. some people at another site are telling me to balance it out with a bar to the right and whatnot and idk... it sort of defeats the purpose to me. i can't imagine that looking good. opinions?

i don't think you need that. it's like it would just be adding shit for the sake of adding it. i think it'd be really busy and crowded.

I think it would look awkward if you added a bar on the right; like you said, it looks like it's meant to be left-heavy and it pulls that off really well.

Oh, I'm diggin' the simplicity and structure. Well done. However, have you considered maybe seeing how it would be as a dark layout (you know, instead of always having white set as the background or something, try black or a nice shade of gray)? I think that would look pretty nice.

Also, it's not that big of a deal, but the black-to-white transition on the page is a bit clashing at first and makes the sections divided in an abrupt fashion.
