you might want to tone the background down and use graphics that match for the top for your retro theme..

I like the top banner, but the bottom background doesn't match at all. Try making a background that matches what you have at the top.

OW. I hate to be mean, but it looks like you just took Heather's tutorial and started slapping images in there. Tone it down, match it together, etc and so forth. Ouch.

Its going to give someone a suisure! yea.. ok here are the issues I have with the site.
1) Too many colors in background 2) Header looks like pictures pasted on (you can see bits of white around them) so yea.. maybe you need a little more practice with photoshop. |

Not bad for your first.
-The header image is a bit choppy, make sure you erase better around images when you paste them on. -The background is too strong, you usually need a solid color if you're going to put text on top of it. Even though the text is white, it's still really hard to read. -The header, the background, and the footer all three don't match. Try to work on that. -The border around your text is a little too thick, it stands out too much. I can tell you put a lot of work into this, so don't give up! Take all the criticism and keep trying. :) |

The background is too...bleh. Its not my taste. But its your first, so the blog's background can change. Thats all.
