This is the second time I have been warned for a reason I believe not to be fair.
And I think hi-c warned me just because I mistook her for a guy. Because I recieved the warning within 30 mins if me mistaking her for a guy.

These are all the things that hi-c called spamming and what she warned me for.

QUOTE
Im not...

the thread was saying how hi-c was excited about xmen and i simply said i wasnt.

QUOTE
In that thread about fruits in weird places you wrote:
grrr...

I said grr cause mipdadi posted a funny picture about fruit sex and it had a pic of the devil or something and i just said grr cause it was the devil.

QUOTE
In my thread about Rachel Maddow you wrote:
Youve been posting a lot of random threads?! I thought you were a guy?

hi-c:Which did not pertain to the topic at hand, and I regret engaging you in resulting conversation.

It did not pertain to the thread exactly but if all mods took spamming as serious as the everyone here would be banned. Many forums get off track and go into conversations but people dont get warned for it.

QUOTE
In the thread, "What are you wearing?"
My bros have like all the clothes the jonas brothers have. They look like they walked straight outa europe?! blink.gif

Which they did...

hi-c:This reply does not pertain to the topic at hand.

This had everything to do with the thread! It was all about clothes and i was talking about how my bros dress!

QUOTE
In your own topic about computers:
Cool Beens dude.
and
Coolio.

I said cool?! How is that spam?

I would like to point these out from the community guidlines:

QUOTE
Chatting --> Some is tolerated but personal conversations and chatspeak is in no way allowed. Use the chatroom. That's what it's there for.

spam is something intentional and harmful to the community.

id rather prefer you being lenient than overly strict.

A lot of chatting goes on in the forums and none of my chatting was worse than others.

We all know I am not trying to harm the community?!

hi-c is being very strict for warning me for such minor things.

So i hold my case that my warning should be lowered.
(this feels kinda like a courtroom)lolz

Ps: the first time I was warned was by tung in the vip lounge cause he said i was annoying.

ppl arent so fond of me here... but that gives them no reason to warn me repetitively.

(sorry if this is in the wrong place.)

You really believe that you got warned because you thought Carrie was a guy? That would be called mod abuse, like when Tung warned you because he and other CB members found you annoying. You were warned because many of your replies had nothing to do with the topics you were posting in, or you were giving one- and two-word replies that contributed nothing to the topic. That also counts as spam. If you have nothing relevant to say, just don't reply.

Jc just posts smilies all the time?
so should he be warned for posting maybe three times in a row with a different smiley?
And kingduhling often just quotes people without writing any text?
I dont see how any of those things can count as spam. And i saw that it changed but i thought we were supposed to get verbal warnings before we got warned.
And how come i can post in the forums this time when i couldnt last time?

We stopped doing verbal warnings a long time ago because they were ineffective. Now being warned to 10% counts as your verbal warning. You only get demoted to Member when your warning level reaches 20%.

You can still post because Carrie didn't disable your posting ability.

And he's better known for being cool than you are.

Then don't post stupidly. You shouldn't be afraid to write anything for fear of being warned. It's about the quality of your posts, not quantity.

AND JESUS CHRIST, JOSEPH, I DIDN'T WARN YOU BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT I WAS A GUY.

Edit: And I warned you at damn near 3 pm. That was 3 hours after you said you thought I was a guy.

Seriously though, get over it. Everyone's been warned at some point on this site.

Moved to Feedback

Yeah sorry to say it Joseph, but you kind of were a bit spammy. I don't really consider Kevin quoting things to be spam because he's contributing to the thread. He doesn't want to type his response because either someone already said it or he just doesn't want to type it, I guess.

Don't stop posting. Keep on posting. Just make it so that your reply will contribute to the thread, mmk? thumbsup.gif

QUOTE(divergent @ Jan 30 2009, 06:08 PM) *
Like the "grr..." comment, you could have quoted the image (removing the img tags of course) and then made your post. It wouldn't really stand out like spam that much.

See, if you did this, it wouldn't count as spam. But you just said "grr.." I consider that to be spam. If you're replying to something someone said, make sure to quote it instead of just posting, you know?

One word replies are spam, and spam is defined in the community guidelines.

There are a couple instances quoted that do make sense. You could help defend yourself if when you decided to post your one to two word replies that you're quoting whatever you're referring to. Like the "grr..." comment, you could have quoted the image (removing the img tags of course) and then made your post. It wouldn't really stand out like spam that much.

This is posted in the wrong forum. Feedback is the place you wanna be. Preferbly Mod performance, or a PM back to the mod who warned you. If problem cannot be resolved then contact an Admin.

Ya i realized that after i got warned:(

I think it's kinda weird that you posted this:

QUOTE
hi-c:This reply does not pertain to the topic at hand.

This had everything to do with the thread!

Honestly, a 10% stays in place for 2 weeks and then it is lifted. Nothing happens to you when you are at 10%, it's considered a slap on the wrist. You need to learn to make replies that go with the topic discussion. Sometimes threads get sidetracked, and that's ok, but those are usually Lounge topics and quickly get back to the point of the thread. You are one person saying things that do not pertain to the topic in more than one topic. It's not just one or two spammy replies.

I don't even visit the forums very often anymore and I've seen you post off topic things more than once in the past couple weeks. Just go to the Designer's Cafe and it seems like almost every topic has some random reply like this one.

I highly doubt anyone would warn you for mistaking their gender.

Its cause one of the sites he linked too was a flash site.
http://www.mikimottes.com/
So i asked how much flash was.
So i thought it was related.
I just didnt realize how strict cb was about staying on the topic subject.
An exception in lounge vip lounge and forum games of course.

Here's a hint, kid:

Keep a low profile with the one-word posts and the complaining, and I guarantee you that this will be a forgotten issue. You won't have to worry about anyone busting your balls. thumbsup.gif

Trust me on this; I've been suspended from this forum at one point back in the day.

I'm pretty sure other people have been warned for less-important reasons, such as posting links or something..

I think spam is a more legitimate reason to warn someone.

Hi there. =]

I hope you have sort of an understanding as to why you were warned, but ultimately what you have to grasp is that it was just a warning. Sure, it sucks seeing 10% under all your posts, but it's really not as tragic as having your posts disabled or being banned. Carrie warned you for spamming, and if you stop spamming your warning level will go down in two weeks, just like magic!

Don't worry about people not liking you, being popular is no fun anyway. :P

edit; Oh right, and if you think you're being treated unfairly stuff like this is perfectly acceptable. You have every right to question your warning or punishment, or even the way another member on the forums is treating you. Personally, I would have sent a private message, but if you wanted this to be public then that's your call. That was all to say that the people who are throwing insults around should probably take it down a couple of notches. :P

No multiple accounts allowed, though.

Not all newcomers are considered annoying if they act normal and don't spam.
