What color did you dye it? Are you wanting to change it back to a lighter color? If so, I'd be weary on using anything with a lot of peroxide in it since it will fry your hair.

I've dyed my hair the day after a dye fiasco (it was literally bright red). I have to admit though, I had my ends trimmed the next day and I used a hot oil treatment as well.

That means, you can, but you will more than likely damage your hair a bit. Unfortunately, it's a side-effect of over-coloring.

well, you can wait probably a few months I'm guessing until the color fades out a bit, and then trim the outside of your hair? Ergh. But that's only because I didn't dye my whole hair, I just dyed the outside and a little bit inside highlights.
And you CAN dye it lighter, but it can really damage your hair badly like Zatanna said. I really wouldnt recommend dying your hair again so quickly, even though your hair IS healthy.

Dying hair is already bad enough. You should wait until it sort of fades first.

Wig? Coloring hair is a lot different from bleaching it. Since you went from light to dark, there probably wasn't much bleach in your coloring if any. Just, as aforementioned, maybe wait a week and then bleach if you'd like to go back.

DO NOT REDYE YOUR HAIR YET!!!!!!!

my sister did a bad job of dyeing her hair several times and its just not (after about 4 years getting back to normal). the best thing for you to do is just let it fade out of your hair. If you want better advice talk to your stylest.

yea just wait before dying your hair its really damgaing if you dye it again..unless you go to a professional stylist they might know what to do. if you cant go just wash your hair alot usually it fades after 15 washes.

I think you should just get it stripped. Just ask a hair stylist or someone about it.

Getting color stripped damages it even more than redying it!

It strips it of all the natural oils!

well you should go to the hair salon [or w/e you usually get your haircuts] and ask what THEY can do... all salons IM SURE have a person who can dye hair... and untill then you either would have to wait or get it done there happy.gif

Yeah. For now, that's about all you can do. I think the best thing health-wise is to let your natural hair grow out and then just cut off all the dyed hair, but that might take a long time.

If you recolor it again, it may get dry, coarse and won't have its natural shine. You can get conditioner by Pantene for "dry, damaged" or "colored" hair. I used to dye my hair a lot, so I used shampoo for "dry, damaged" and conditioner for "colored" hair. It works. Pantene's really good stuff.
