I carry my textbook around everywhere even though it weighs a ton because I need it. I've noticed it's sort of beginning to fall apart though. My math text from the semester before ended up almost nearly falling apart, but I still need to use this text for the next semester. Any tips on how to make it not fall apart? Not taking it with me everywhere isn't an option (unfortunately).

You just have to be more careful how you're handeling your books. When you're home where do you keep them? The floor, or a shelf? Same at school, are they on the floor getting kicked around? For your math textbook situation, I think your best option is to get some strong tape, not cheap masking tape, and tape around the binding to the cover and back. inside and out.
